FILMMAKERS STATEMENT
For more than twenty-five years I have worked in the film industry as a professional stuntman, performing dangerous action while doubling some of Hollywood’s most recognizable faces in cinema. Long before my career in film, I was fascinated by identity, disguise, and the hidden layers behind the public images people present to the world. Over time I realized that my own life had also become a kind of performance shaped by risk, art, and the roles we play. The Perception of Illusion grew out of the question I was asked countless times: how did I become a stuntman? The answer was always too layered and personal to explain in conversation. This autobiographical documentary traces my path from a childhood fascination with danger, disguise, and creativity to a life in cinema and visual art, where the boundaries between performance and truth began to blur. In telling this story, I wanted to explore not just my career, but the deeper question that exists beneath every illusion we create—the search for who we truly are when the performance ends.
